Spiked punishment collar

With spikes on every side, this instrument, that weights more than five kilograms, was fastened around the neck of the victim. The collar, at times, becomes the means of execution: the piercings to the bones through the very little flesh of the neck, of the jaw and of the shoulder, the spreading gangrene, the feverish blood poisoning, the erosion of the bones and especially of the vertebrae leading to death shortly.
